Feature Fashion Photographer: Michelle Behr

It's been 12 years since Michelle Behr bought her first camera and she's ready now to delve into photography for the fashion industry.

Previously known as a wedding photographer in the Okanagan, Behr says she's itching to do more creative work and the fashion industry is on her to-do list.

The self-taught photographer, who has lived in the Okanagan for the past seven years, has a background in art therapy. But, she says she's always been inspired by her grandmother who was in the fashion industry her whole life.

Photography to Behr is a way of expressing yourself visually in a way to reach people on a whole different level. Reaching people is exactly what she was hoping for when she submitted her photographs to Okanagan Woman for the winter fashion spread.

Behr was inspired by the Okanagan Woman winter theme, which included winter blues, burnished browns and a whole lot of fur. Immediately Behr knew she wanted her model, Tina Lee to wear Wolf + Sadie jewellery. The minimalistic, steel pieces were exactly what Behr wanted for this Okanagan Woman shoot. After choosing the jewellery, Behr reached out to Bia Boro Kelowna for their clothing pieces to accompany her jewellery.

Behr believes this set is one of the most dynamic pieces of work she has ever done.

CONGRATULATIONS MICHELLE!

Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with Okanagan Woman's readers.
