Your Local Ski School

Big White knows that kids who begin skiing or boarding early will be introduced to a sport that they’ll love for a lifetime.

Paula Buchanan of Big White’s famed ski school is co-ordinator of the Big White After School Program, which is offered to 54 schools in the Okanagan. The plan is available to students from grades 4 and up, and kids are picked up at their school at the end of a school day. Chaperones are always on hand. After a ride up to the mountain they’ll receive dinner, a lift ticket, a one hour lesson, chaperoned free ski time and a their return trip to their school by 9:00 pm.

Dependent upon which school they’re at, they’ll get three consecutive weeks on a specific mid-week night.

Give your kids an opportunity of a lifetime by signing them up for the After School Program.

The early bird price is $144 for the three evenings of skiing, meals, lessons and round-trip transfers.

Parents are encouraged to book online for the greatest savings, and the package can be purchased from October through mid-December.

At you’ll find a list of the schools available for pick up and individual dates will be posted.

This program has grown fast during the past few years, with lots of kids progressing beyond the beginner level. Children with season passes get a discount rate.

One of the most brilliant offers available is the Children’s Season-Long Ski Rentals. Available online only to pass holders aged 12 and under, rent ski equipment (no snowboards) for $135 plus a $25 damage waiver.

The magic in this plan is that you can take the gear home for the season knowing that your child’s equipment will fit perfectly as you can exchange it if your little one has a growth spurt.

There are a limited number of sets available on a first come, first served basis so book early!
