Thanksgiving Turkey Cheese Ball

While the real bird is roasting, you can present your guests with this tasty Thanksgiving turkey. It also makes for a fun centerpiece.



INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 8oz. package cream cheese

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar

  • About 1/2 cup of chopped mixed nuts

  • 2 candy eyes

  • 1 Slim Jim

  • pretzel sticks

  • 1 round chocolate candy Whopper for the head

  • 1 candy corn

  • a few teaspoons of melted chocolate melts to adhere the eyes and "beak"

  • box of crackers for cheese


DIRECTIONS:

  1. Soften cream cheese and cheddar cheese.

  2. Cream the cream cheese and add in the shredded cheddar. Stir and "cream" until both cheeses are thoroughly mixed together.

  3. Pop the mixture into a piece of plastic wrap and form it into a ball. Place in the refrigerator for a few hours to firm it up.

  4. Remove from the refrigerator and gently roll the ball of cheese in the chopped nuts.

  5. Place pretzels in place as in picture to make the fun tail of the turkey.

  6. To make the head and neck, use chocolate melt to glue the round chocolate candy “head” to about a 4” or 5” long piece of Slim Jim “neck”. Glue on the eyes and "beak" candy corn and place in the freezer for a few minutes.

  7. Insert the neck into the cheese ball, place the entire thing on a plate and into the refrigerator overnight.

  8. Add your favourite cheese crackers to create the nest, share and enjoy!
